How to Play

See the note? Select its letter. That’s it — it’s easy to play!

Prefer to work on just the treble clef or just the bass clef? Settings allow you to choose. You can even try alto or tenor clef. Settings also allow you to choose whether you hear the note and how many notes are in the set. Have fun with note identification!

Behind See Note

See Note began when it was “HackFest,” a week of technology exploration at my place of employment. With the goal of writing a cross-platform game, I again turned to the cocos2d family of products, but this time used cocos2d-x, so I could write once and deploy both to the App Store as well as to the web.

I used Cocos Creator v1.3.3, with Cocos2d-JS v3.6 and designed it to fit 960 x 640.

Artwork

I re-used the crispy graphics Yancey Labat provided for Multiplication Marbles and am so excited he also made some custom emojis! I also used musical artwork available on Wikimedia Commons.
